Zoya is a 35-year-old university lecturer and associate professor. She has a 14-year-old son but has no husband. She is head over hills in love with Igor, a 25-year-old handsome postgraduate, who seems to be absolutely untalented. It’s quite obvious that he needs Zoya only for successful completion of his dissertation.
Igor invites Zoya to spend two weeks at the dacha he has allegedly hired, with a secret desire to make her write another chapter of his dissertation. However, Igor’s fiancée, Liudmila unexpectedly turns up and Igor introduces her to Zoya as his sister in order not to ruin his plan. Loving Zoya believes in everything until offended Liudmila calls Zoya and tells her the truth.
In tears Zoya returns home. There she encounters her childhood friend and a neighbour, Vasia who has been desperately in love with Zoya for all this years. At last Zoya pays attention to him! And Vasia returns her to life, making her future bright and promising, presenting his beloved, among other things, a harp, her forgotten childhood dream!
