Lilia, a girl from rural Russia, travels to Moscow to fulfil her dream of becoming an actress. Her first attempt at getting accepted into acting school fails but Lilia is undeterred. Determined to audition again next year, she stays in Moscow working as a waitress in a top restaurant and living in a hostel with fellow aspiring actress, Marina.
Lilia’s life soon takes a dramatic twist when she meets Arseniy, a trainee lawyer at a college dance with whom she falls in love. Unfortunately, his rich and prominent parents strongly object to their relationship and are determined to put a stop to it at all costs. They get their chance later that evening when the owner of the restaurant where Lilia works, is murdered. Lilia is suddenly the prime suspect and with evidence mounting, even Arseniy begins to doubt her innocence. However, it turns out that Arseniy’s father is behind Lilia’s arrest and although Arseniy tries to defend her in court, his father’s influence is too strong and Lilia is convicted and sent to jail.
Despite these terrible events, Lilia and Arseniy’s love continues to grow but there is one final battle they need to win before they can be reunited forever…
