There is an emergency - pupils from a private school have been rushed to hospital with suspected poisoning. Curiously they are all from the same class, that of the teacher Aleksandra Simonova. Suddenly life for everyone is not the same anymore, as events, one more unclear than the other, rapidly begin to unfold.

The complicated investigation is entrusted to Tatiana Kulik, Chief Investigator of the Public Prosecutor's office. As she begins to examine different versions of the accident, one thing becomes clear - none of the employees at the school has obvious reasons or motives for the crime.

When Kulik eventually tracks down the villain, however, she is shocked - so unexpected was the truth, so artful and devious was the criminal.

Having escaped justice before, the villain had returned in a different guise to try and finish his dirty deed. And Kulik, having survived the threat of dismissal from her job, the possible loss of a child carried by a substitute mother and betrayal by her relatives, eventually achieves victory in her quest for truth and justice. Love conquers all, and life goes on.
