The disappearance of an underground train with hundreds of passengers on board seems ominously connected to a secret government program. The apparently simple case of a man and woman, whose bodies were found burned in a car close to a cemetery leads the investigators to a dead end – at first. An unidentified man dies of a lethal mixture of poison and alcohol in a detox center. How is this connected with the theft of $1 million at Moscow Airport?

The Crime Detection Department discovers a book on devil worship on the body of a fellow officer after he is suddenly killed in a car accident. Along with notes on Malleus Maleficarum, the infamous treatise on witches published in the 15th century, there are annotations on death spells, diagrams of car accidents and references to burnt matches, fish scales and blood-stained feathers.

Complex and baffling cases like these, based on actual events from the 1970s, are all in a day’s work for Crime Detection officers, Colonel Stary and Captain Aleksandr Kotin in this exciting and action-packed series.
